Is Texas power cheap or what? If I tried that here in Calif. I'm sure there would be a knock at the door from the Energy Police. Next would be 20 to Life for failure to obtain a consumption license...
I have 2500 sq ft of garage roof area... I should really look into Solar power.

The big Power Co. has been airing some "feel-good" comercials.
One line is like "here it's pronounced rodeo not ro'dea'o"

My 'ole lady is used to my obsessiveness now. ;)
We (I) started out with 2 fishtanks 9 yrs ago. I had to move a dozen of them when we got our new house a year and a half ago. 10 of 'em were set up in the maser bedroom.
She doesn't really fuss too much, after all I am the provider. :)

It used to get pretty hot, until I put in a pair of window fans sucking the heat out. All of the heat coming off of the machines on the table goes right out the window. I can run them on low and there is still enough positive airflow to keep the hot Texas air outside when the HVAC kicks on. The thermostat and return air is right across from the door. I was really having some problems before the fans. The hot air from the office was heating the thermostat and freezing the rest of the house.

That was my home office desk. The desk was cleared just before the picy, as I was about to finish testing a new micro product.... Normally, books, papers, files, coffee cups, CD's all over the place! My typical work practice envolves burying myself with documentation and life support systems (coffee) for weeks/months. Come testing time, I snap and go into hyper-clean mode. :D
You should have seen my office down town until a week ago! I have just finished a 18 month Unix development project, man that desk and surrounds was a brothel!!! Friday was the big celebratory wind-up for the project, massive clean up (even found a programmable calculator lost 6 months ago! I printed out all the source code for the project, just over 2000 pages and totally fried a HP3 laser printer in the process, meltdown world! - Those things get HOT when run 9 hours continuous ????? Obviously not designed to cope with overclocking!

I wish I could, but I borrowed my boss'es camera to do those pics.
I bought the thing at a local Sam's Club. I think it was about $60 US. It's a pretty good design. I plan on copying a lot of it to do a couple more to fit into some bookshelves. The construction is fair, I would have dovetailed the drawers instead of rabbits and cheap staples. I'll probably use oak instead of piney wood too. That chest is pretty much filled up with computer junk and my small indoor tools.
The locking mechanism is kind of neat. There is a detailed board about 4" wide with some brass lined holes on the top and brass pegs on the bottom. The pegs fit into some inserts the are in the projection of the casing below the bottom drawer. When the hinged top is closed it pushes down two spring loaded pins that lock the board in place. The drawers are green felt lined too.

Dnar - I know the feeling. Sometimes I almoast have to pole-vault to get to my desk at home ;)
Usually, my work area at the office has many layers of drawings and redlines. I really hate it when someone messes up my filing system looking for some drawing.

LOL! "Many layers" LOL! :D
I prefer to call it "organised chaos". I really do suffer "horizontal surface syndrome"....:D
My wife on the other hand, really likes the living areas super clean. "Whats this magazine doing on the coffee table!!!!!!" - erhhh isn't that what it's for???

Your wife's seems a little more diplomatic.
All I get is "Don't start piling your sh** in here, too!" If I leave a few magazines in the living room.

Ok, my turn. Nothing to elaborate about it, just my laptop and 2 desktops in the bedroom.
The laptop is usually downstairs in the living room with me in front of the boob tube and Teena will do homework for college on one of the boxen in the bedroom.

Michael and his daughter are very left handed proficient. Only ones in the family that are.
I am the only leftie in my enitre family, going back a generation or too as well. Guess that makes my pretty unique in my family gene pool.
As far as MS happy. I'd change to Linux in a heartbeat when I can afford too. Probably when I get to work on building my server. Maybe that will be later in the fall after we get moved to Atlanta.

I think I still have a few hundred BF of rough red oak left, my father-in-law had about 500 or so laying around that he let me have. He also bought me the planer so I could plane it all down. :) That green felt is prolaby that stuff they're always using in Shopnotes mag ( and they have it in Lee Valley cats too). You spread in some glue, and shoot the green flocking in. Neat stuff.
