Kind of like turning your computer off with the power cord, isn't it?

You probably wouldn't have problems, but technically there would be an increased chance of file corruption. G@H's recovery is pretty good, but still...

yeah, that crossed my mind too. That's why I mentioned ueing EM, it has an option which attempts to close the client on exit, but doesn't work reliably. I wondered if disabling the feature this guy talks about, would allow EM to shut down the client properly.

I found that same hack somewhere else but with small one addition. Copy conagent.exe to the g@h program folder before you modify it. Then, at least, you won't be changing shutdown messages for ALL of your software.

I've used it without problems before I got EM2, which I like better.

I can't say if either one is 100%. It does seem pretty unlikely you could ever catch g@h in the middle of updating its files -- which is the only way you would be able to mess something up.

Those warning you talk about are normal in Win95 and Win98 (also WinMe (all the same shit if you ask me...))

The Win OS doesn't like to have Dos box closed the hard way, hence the piss-me-off warning...

You can turn off the feature safely if you usualy close the box with the "X" in the top righ corner... like me, since Genome doesn't save his work until 100% has been reach, so Ctrl+C does no good at all (/me opinion, may not reflect reallity).

Also there's a little thingy you can use:
/snip & edit

"Eliminating the Appliction Not Responding message when shutting down Windows 95, 98, and ME:
Download and unzip into your windows directory the file Default.zip to instruct Windows to close the Genome Cli when exiting. You may need to reboot after to activate this change. Note this windows patch doesn't always work with Windows 98 original edition. The file you are unzipping is called _Default.PIF and contains the information to tell Windows to honor application close instructions. It only impacts 16 bit (DOS) and 32 bit console applications."

here's the link for it: http://www.wakeassoc.com/setidriver/default.zip

Works like a charm in the Seti years....

Good luck
