i keep seeing all this stuff about running -nonet, I don't understand it.. on G@H's site this is what is said:

-nonet: Reruns a current work unit indefinitely, without attempting to make a network connection.

wouldn't that basicly mean that your doing the same gene over and over? Hence, does that mean you basicly wasting time?
I am on a lan, so I don't have to worry about the connection.....
someone please explain why I would want to run that or why I wouldn't want to!

Basically the -nonet function which appeared in ver .98 was to alleviate the problem of the program constanly trying to connect to Stanford. Very annoying for dial-up users. Also if you aren't connected to the net. When you run nonet, yes it does run the same gene over and over, but every time you complete it, it ends up as a different result. No result is the same. Someone else could probably explain that better. Hope that helps.

In v0.98 seed.dat is reset with a new random number.
In v0.94 it incremented the random number by 1.

I got my hands on a 37aa today. Smallest I have ever had. Goes really fast on my TB.
