Why doesn't it have the damn mounting holes tho'? Same as on the Tiger, you can't mount an Alpha 8045 or a Swiffy.

Pretty cool looking, my 1 question is what kind of power supply is going to be required to run 2 1900+ cpu's? And much will it all cost?<g>

Hmmm. I've seen pictures of these mobos without holes and some with. I'd got the impression that only the Thunder had holes. Oh well, if you got holes, Dave, you got holes.

Still looks like the Asus doesn't though.

A 300W minimum with at least 30A on the 5V line. Shouldn't be too expensive.

The Asus A7m266-d says it supports Duron MP's. Are they making Duron MP's yet?

Adjustable CPU frequency multiplier (note: only one CPU can be adjusted)
I suppose that means both CPUs use the same multiplier, but that's not what it says.

Yes....all Durons are SMP capable but what they mean in their literature is the Palomino cored Duron which start at 1Ghz+.

What kind of memory (brand) would you want to use in that A7m266-d? Would you have to go all out with High Performance Mushkin?

The MPX chipset will be a little more lenient than the MP chipset in that it will not require registered DDRAM. It should support any garden variety PC1600/PC2100. Crucial PC2100 is recommended.

It supports registered DDR SDRAM in all 4 dimms, or unbuffered DDR SDRAM in 2 dimms.

So, for a 1Gb option, either 4x 256Mb registered, or 2x 500Mb unbuffered.

personally, I'm gonna go for 1 Gig of registered Crucial PC2100 (4x256mb) at about £120 total.

I am running 4x256Mb in the Tiger and it really doesn't like CAS2. I will probably run 2x512Mb unbuffered as the unbuffered PC2100 doesn't mind CAS2.

I've always like Crucial. Cheaper and almost as good as Mushkin. As far as overclocking, why? With processors this fast, what does an exta 100mhz do for ya with a dual 1900+. Wait, uh, uh, uh, oh this board is better than sex! Seriously, I'm glad that Asus uses the AMD chipsets instead of the Via. Via has always given me and friends a fricken headache. Asus remains the only mobo manufacturer not on my sh@t list. Stable and fast.

Always thinking Phil, that's what I like about ya. :D You should write a book. I know I'd buy it. K guess I need some multi processor now.
