tv tuner probs

I finally got my WintV :D but there seems to be somethign special about it.... i hooked up my Sega genesis to it and the colors are washed out and the screen quivers a lil bit. i hook up my SNES to it and its mostly garbled (both are composite in). I hooked my camera to the Video in (RCA jack) and it looks good.

These systems looked waaaaay better than this on a standard TV. Whats goin' on here?

EDIT: I hooked my coax cable to it and got all the channels. Most of them seemed fine except for the local news scrolling channel. Also, motion seemed to cause the scan lines to move in different directions, like one moved when it was supposed to, and the next one didn't until the next frame. Hard to describe.

Are there soem special setting i'm missin here?

its a WinTV made in 1996. It has Svideo, RCA video in and audio in, and composite in.

Arrgghhh... dunno, might be a hardware or software prob... i've never tried to hook a game console to my tv tuner/capture card... composite in from a vcr was fine.... I'd say try to update the drivers and see what happens... is there any way to fine tune the input? you may be able to find modified drivers at www.driverguide.com ... login as user: drivers, pass: all ... see what you can find. hth! :)

I really think its hardware, and its on the SNES end. REgular cable works great, going into the composite in plug. These game systems don't. Maybe the signal is too weak? I cna get s video or RCA cables for 2 of them, but my poor SNES doesn't have an option for RCA or s video (don't ask me why the older NES does :eek: )

I got it workin' Seems that the F connector can't be screwed in all the way. I just screwed it on the way on and then backed it upa few tuerns and it looks just about as good as it does on a tv (not so good :D)
