While I'm working on the stats, I do all kind of query to verify the validity of the data.
I loved this one...
http://pages.infinit.net/jclaudev/Inactive.htm
These are all the members that show on The_Genome_Collective stat page but didn't send any WU since I started collecting data (2001/07/08 21:00)
Obviously some are still on -nonet... There's an impact on our daily rate (http://pages.infinit.net/jclaudev/TeamsDaily.htm), it should be much higher...

Didn't Froglips have to take all his computers down as the military was transferring him some where? So he had to pack all his stuff up and have it shipped to his next "home"?

well I just lost another WU at sequence 23. Every WU I've tried to crunch since we started, has been corrupted
I can't believe it. My compn seems unable to save the deatsils of work done. Everytime I re-start, the client says no work saved (or something similar) and phones home for a new gene????
WTF?

Just for curiosity sake tril, have you tried running at a lower speed...140x10 for example? Maybe you are pushing it just that little bit too far?

The .98 client always does that. Sort of throws you off a bit to see it. When I get a bad WU, I delete every file with todays date. Hit ghclient.exe and you should get a new WU. At least that is what I have done so far and it works.

That's normal for the .98a client tril. It will always try to cache a new woonit unless it is working on one and has one already cached. I had a rash of bad woonits last weekend so don't feel bad! Worry not tril, it can only get better!
BTW my KT7A-R was set but kept locking when there was no load on the cpu... g@h, not just for crunching genes!

A bit of useless info for ya guys. When I nonet for a long period, I like to get new work for the client. This is how I feed it:
My main client is in:
/opt/ghclient098_linux
I installed a second "feeder" client in:
/opt/ghclient098_linux/feeder
Now the 2nd client has identical id.dat and ghclient.cfg files. The "feeder" client was run until 1 of 30 sequences were completed, then re-run to get the following files:
sparams.dat.2
baselines.dat.2
input.inp.2
input.pdb.2
seed.dat.2
str.dat.2
When the "feeder" client has finished downloading the cached 2nd unit, I kill the "feeder" client and then move all of the "*.2" files into my active client directory. "feeding it".
Note,
1. I never run the "feeder" client to completeion, as I would most likely end up with duplicate units being submitted.
2. The "feeder" client must have the "ID" of the main client.
Have fun! :D

problem is, it should have one cached. I dhut down the box last night, midway through seq23, boot up this am and it calls a new whoonit and starts working on it. Nothing cached. In the last week, I've been online a lot as you guys know, and I havent managed to complete a single WU... Grrrr.
This is with old faithful too (P3600 @ 800), my tbird box is offline for a while waiting for some parts and a new OS before I install too much, so that isn't crunching either.

Got back this afternoon. Client was not running :( but had only been down for two days so I just dumped 48 genes (57aa). While away I reined in my 750E back to its default. Tomorrow I'll see how many my work computers generated (if any).

Hey Mike, good to see you, how was Thailand?
MikeTimbers

How was Thailand? Don't ask!
Too late!
Thailand was infuriating, enchanting, beautiful, tragic. Oh and hot.
Q. Do any men actually enjoy shopping with their wives?
Q. Should any man have to take his children with him on holiday?
Q. Does an airline have the right to delay a flight scheduled to leave at 00:30 for 3½ hours? A 4am take-off?
I need a holiday!

my name "Fizler" was created by mistake, there is no way to delete it yet, or add the units to my real name. thats 100+ units wasted :(

Had my two water-cooled boxes off during my vacation. One is back on line now, the other needs a bigger ps. Should be back online within the week. So, no big dump from me.

I use the same technique in Windoze.
I also run an upload frequently rather than wait for a big dump. (Personal preference, but this does continue to process during the time of waiting for the net.)
In this case, I just invoke another copy of ghclient in the same directory. The lock message warns me about two copies or bad shutdown, but since upload only touches the .xxxxxx files (completed results), I override the warning and it uploads just fine and quits.
