I was being absolutely sincere in my response Ridicully. It would be great if you guys could come to an agreement. Our merger has brought numerous people back to the project. People who were no longer crunching are now putting up some staggering numbers and the new community that was created by all of this was tremendous. People who weren't involved in posting are now outspoken and having a blast. If you 2 or 3 teams could accomplish what we have, we would all benefit as well as the project itself. Of course you would kick our butts in the stats race, but that's not the most important thing at stake.

I read Dewill's post a few days back and it really struck home what this is about for most of us. Sure the stats are important, but the imotional reasonings behind why we do this is far more important to each one of us as individuals.

Battlebus: I don't think you realize what you guys actually did with this project. As an onlooker, most of us saw a fun and exciting way to get people involved who were getting a little bored. It gave the people who weren't able to post big numbers a real chance to participate and also be apart of a top producing account. Again, I don't thin you realize what an impact it had on alot of people. Envy comes to mind.

Team Picard is a wonderful team. I wasn't able to get that across with all the heated discussion that took place on all of our boards. We wouldn't have asked you to be apart of what was created otherwise. I/we approached Team Picard poorly, asking you to make a decision pratically overnight. I/we are very sorry for this an hope that this doesn't tarnish our relationships. Crabbleboys, I'm sorry if I personally offended you in any way. It truly wasn't my intention. Please take the time to come over to our message board so that we can make peace and trade some ideas that would make interteam competition more fun, just like Battlebus did.

Take care guys,
Shawn

I'm just glad it's all calmed down at last, we hold no grudges nor harbour any ill will towards you and your team. I hope that we can now begin to rebuild the excellent relationship we once enjoyed. Nice board by the way. :)

The Battlebus achieved a lot for Picard, it provided a platform for the small producers to get involved in a fast climb through the charts, increased morale and gave us a lot of fun. It did throw up several problems though, the active user list plummetted and we never knew who was actually on board. It also cost some of the bigger producers a lot of places on the individual leaderboard, I'd be past the 40k mark now for instance but it was worth it. :)

As for us and OCN merging, take it with a pinch of salt, it was just a joke. I can't see either of us merging together as we are just too set in our ways but who knows what the future may bring?

Anyway, good luck and I hope you can keep this momentum going, it's rather impressive to say the least. :)

Thanxs Rid, glad you could drop by and say Hi. It's alright m8, we did spot the little "joke" over at OCN ;) Overall though, Stanford would be the real winners if you could pull it off. I think many people are starting to think now that they have seen the reinterest that a merger can stir. At the end of the day, I think that everyone wins.

How are the Picardians then? Fancy another drag race m8???

Take care and see you again.:D

No, that is certainly no mistake....do not agree to his "drag race" as his idea of a drag race is to 1000 posts :)

Hi Ridcully,

I just wanted to say that I myself had a few words to say during the heated discussion. I hope there's no hard feelings on my behalf. I'm not holding any grudges. :)

Don't ever forget, Team Picard has a home here if you ever decide that you want to join. Sorry, I have to pimp. Maybe I missed my calling, I dunno. Thanks for coming over guys, I think it really helps to mend bad thoughts, no matter who is right or wrong. Actually there is no right or wrong, it's how we interpret things. Can you imagine how dull the world would be if we all thought the same way and agreed upon everything?

I help run www.h2oc.net, there is a board over there that has dried up. I'm not sure if it keps trackof how many posts yu've made though. otherwise, the guy that has the server never got any cgi scripts up for remote uploading and hardly any articles get posted to the main site :P
