I can't get my scroll wheel to work in netscape! It works in gedit and other fun apps, but not netscape! ARGH! Why must netscape be different from the rest of the friendly linux apps?

There is a program out there called imwheel. I have never tried it but you may want to give it a shot. Otherwise You could try using the Mozilla Browser or Opera. My scroll wheel works fine in both. IMHO Opera is a better browser but it lacks java support, although I guess it's on the way.
Anyways here's a
link (http://linuxberg.surfnet.nl/x11html/preview/47026.html) to a download site for imwheel if you feel like experimenting.
Hope this helps.

imwheel is [K]rud.... I tried that one, but its a pain as it modifies all you normal scrolling with the apps that used to work without imwheel.
Somewere, I found a neat patch for netscrape, fixed th scrolling, colours and fonts...
I have to did deep to find it guys, I don;t use scrape anymore. Also, try Opera, youll think less of Netscrape once you try...

I found it! Buried deep in the engine room!
Download this file (325k) Netscape (http://members.iinet.net.au/~dnar/downloads/Netscape) and stick it in your /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/app-defaults directory. This will make you much happier, and you won't need imwheel....

Have you tried Opera? (http://www.opera.com)
MechCD

Nope, but i will. i tried mozilla but it can't quite do scripting and java, or anything like those things. including shopping carts at www.caseetc.com :(
Netscape has barfed a few times. it kinda freezes with some of the stuff on the screen, some stuff not. Gnome is ok when it happens though.

Opera is real coooool. It does not yet have full java implementation, but it's on the way. I keep Netscrape 4.76 for times that require Java. When I do use Netscrape, I realize just how good Opera is...... :D
