View Full Version : The deadline approaches - so what now?

Well, it's 00:34 GMT, in a little under 11.5 hrs, the voting will close. It maybe premature to talk of this now, but what happens next. We need to consider our options.

It looks like about a 50/50 on the restart issue, with about 95% in favour of a rebadge (guestimates). In all honesty, I cant see the percentages changing much in the next 11 hrs. This means a.c.h.o has overwhelmingly voted for a merger, using the same acc #, with a new name, website, domain, BB (and how nice is that???) and a new paint job.

I hold the account for a.c.h.o , so in 11:30 hrs time, I'll likely be re-naming the account. For the interim, I suggest the

ACHO_SDL_PCC_Collective.
account # 2136075668

Can anyone smell a dump comming ;)

This shoul carry us over untill the new team reach a consensus on the name. I think this should be first priority, because we've a domain name to register. Sometime thereafter, we'll need to sort out the new BB image, we'll have to chat with Phill on that. I've posted a link elsewhere to a suggested web page, again we'll need the team input for design comments, badging etc. We'll also have to discuss moderators, i suggest existing team leaders/mods should all be mods in the new forum (but then I would ). We'll also need input from coders and script writes, html guru's etc, 'cos we've got to sort out the stats page. We need to write up some kind of bot or script to amalgamate stats - so volunteers please.

Anything else?

It'd help if you are good at something above, to reply here and offer your services. This goes out to anyone who thinks they will be part of the forthcomming merger. Also, please reply with suggestions for badging logo's etc. There is already a team name thread, I think we should keep discussion on that to the thread concerned. Again, any input from anyone concerned with the merger is welcome. we don't know each others skills just yet. Regarding the website, I'm hopefull that Michael from SDL will maintain that. He's done a superb and dedicated job with the SDL site, I don't think I've ever seen such a motivated webmaster - he definitely gets my vote.

Opinions?

Wow, we've got a ton of work and redecorating to do - gonna be fun though.

I'm seriously looking forward to all this (perhaps you can tell ),
Regards

The question is How Big a dump. It looks like ]H['s advertized dump was only 4000, then 6000+ over a 6hr period, so we should be able to meet or exceed that with the number of people -nonet-ing for the last 3-4 days. A 10k dump would be a good jump-start for the new/re-badged team.

Sorry no real skills, all I have to offer is workunits!

Just to add, the vote can still go either way....

Unfortunately, my dump won't be so great. Sniper hasn't been running off network for whatever reason. I'll try to get him straightened out.

This is true, but I do have hope, and the dump to come will still be impressive I think. :D Whichever way the vote goes,( I believe you have picked up the interest of all parties involved and Stanford is the main winner in all this anyway), production levels should increase considerably.

I'm sure you will still put on an impressive showing, and Sniper will bend to the will and force of your persuasion :) .

Gotta hand it to you TriloByte... You've had an incredible 10 days. You and TOP hung in there and helped the rest of us see this thing through. I am excited about this change! I think we are all in for something great.

Thanks, TOP and Trilobyte!

Okay that's plenty of that stuff!

Hey, I go out of town for a little bit and everyone leaves. This board does seem a lot faster. Saw X's site and went to SDL. Glad to see one this going.

We can't just work our butts off like this and be interested for a few weeks. Time to grind until our computers die. We can't slack off once we get to #3. We need more recruits. Hopefully once others view what we've done and see the new layout and deviation from our original teams, they will join. I'll call Sniper tomorrow and see If we can't reimage those machines. My ghost disk is ready for use. Sniper actually aquired about 8-9 pc's from his old job when they did a hardware upgrade. His boss said that he could take them home or get rid of them. All around 400-500mhz. (can't overclock because of mobo. Stinks because all chips are Malay and have a good 620-667 showing on overclockers.com) The computer still have the old software. Once we reimage we should be doing around 600-650 wu's a day.

Just wondering. Anybody had a chance to use the reconfigure user option yet? BTW, not much of a dump here. Just 16 waiting but none of them are under 50. (At least that I remember.)

I don't know about you, but I need to take one hell of a dump!

Celeron: 9 genes.
Thunderbird: 34 genes.

Just curious, who posts under the name "TeamACHO" on Skz's board?

Well, I just sent in 9 genes. Nothing huge, but I have a Plll @ 840 that's been running -nonet for about a week. Can't dump that one for a couple days.
