Probably no help but I have a 2gig Wide SCSI [50pin] if it’s any good it’s yours.

I have a stack of 2.5Gig Quantum Fireball ELs. Let me test them and I'll let you know.

Take the hard drive out of your case and bang it flat on the counter. Hard, but not too hard. I've had this happen before and this solved the problem. Unfortunately, this doesn't work but maybe 2% of the time, but what do you have to lose?

I hate to ask fiz but... you did do some diagnostics on the drive in question, right? Just to make sure it's dead?

"If all else fails beat on it" is my moto. If nothing else it takes out your frustrations ;)

If it doesn't sound like marbles banging around, there might be hope for it.
If you haven't already, I would try to low level the drive.

Here's a few links for hard drives. Most of them have a diagnostic on thier site. Also will have a low level format prog. for their disks. I have not gotten a chance to try it yet on my brothers old hard drive. Been kind of busy this weekend. But all other ways to ressurect it failed. (Scandisk, spinrite, full unconditional format.) I figure I'm not losing anything if it does not work. I'm going to toss it on a boot disk and just have the one drive hooked up to try it.
