Some newbie help

ok...well im brand new pretty much to linux, and i have a quick question. My computer says "sphynx @localhost sphynx" and id like to change the localhost part to something else, but I dont know how. Hope you can help. thanks

In Redhat or Mandrake you can change it manually with Linuxconf. In Mandrake you could use Netconf and rerun the network setup wizard to change the host name. I hope this helps 'cause I'm a newbie too.

You can also edit /etc/hostname.
