That's gonna be a pretty tall order, especially if Data keeps dumping for them. I have a k6II that I can put together, guess this is a good reason to do it.

After battling with problems last night, I found that I had a bad HD and floppy. Luckily, we are getting rid of 800 computers this week and I got permission to take some floppies, hd's, and memory.

What do you mean by getting rid of? Selling them? Trashing them? Charity? I don't live too far away if they are selling cheap!

I have a decent dump on the way (hopefully 1000+ units), and I'm about to add another high-clock (1.5GHz+) Tbird to the farm. :)
I think we can do it! :D
Edit: According to Statsman (http://statsman.noxordo.com/genomestats/) (at our current rates of production), we'll pass Picard at about the 650K mark somewhere near 8/5. Considering they have 20K wu's to go to hit 600K, and we have 75K, it's a tall order, but not impossible.

They are so old that charities won't take them. We've tried the school systems, slavation army, Good Will, etc. and none of them want the pc's. Hard drives are anywhere from 500mg to 3.2gb. Ram is in 4mg sticks so it's really not useful. Unfortunately it takes 10 minutes to take the floppy and HD out of 1 pc. Old IBM's stink.

Well my offer stands. Name the price or a donation to the site plus S&H. If you are unable to that is fine, nothing lost. I could use the HD's mostly. I would be able to bring some more systems online. LMK if it's possible.

I've been known to build old parts into genoming computers -- Do these things work? If so, what are they?
I do have my minimums. And if they're less than my minimums, I found a guy on another team with even lower minimums.

If it is like here Dave you are only allowed to use one connection at a time. Thing is with the router it only shows one connection to the outside world. I have one and love it. Ethernet cables are easy to make so u could connect all of your machines and with the proper set up control all from one.

A router is sure nice -- but if you don't have the $50 (or whatever that is in Sterling) -- you have two options (assuming you have a LAN).
A) Win98SE ICS
B) A service machine for manual uploads
I have a router, but I use B anyway (saves most of the processing time during uploading)
* On the internet machine, set a shortcut to each copy of ghclient with -upload.
* Whenever you feel like uploading, type YES to allow the second copy to run.

Me too. My router seems to be a pretty good firewall.
I did get some warnings from zonealarm (doing the job I hired it to do ;) ) but they went away after I installed my router -- so I shut it down, too. I suppose I'll still use it again if I put a website up on the dmz.
