Programming is a hot thing now :( unfortunatly for me, that means more job suckers out their. This wouldnt bother me if they were all good at what they do, but most people i see in my classes cant program themselves out of a 10 byte single dimention array! Ugh, it really bugs me in lab, people come over and ask all kinds of questions about this or that or how this works, seriously, figure it out. Your not going to be sitting at work and have the guy next door to talk to and figure out something. Durring all my schooling, i have asked 2 people about code related material in class. one person was my teacher (its a lower level c programming class where we are making drivers to work through the serial port to send bits to a voice recording chip) and that wasnt for programming help, it was for figuring out the damn conversions from the pin number on the serial port to the bit number on the port to the dip number on our chip interface. poop on that geez lol. This particular class is a prime example. thier is a group of 2 girls and 1 guy who dont even know c, have never taken it and dont even know what it is. The only other time i remember asking for coding help was in my c++ class when i asked my teacher to figure out an error which was so stupidly simple, i forgot using namespace std; (which has no relevence to the programs we are writing in this class, small stupid command line things). and a double precision thing to format a number. Im not saying im the worlds best or anything, and this is afterall only a community college, but still if your in the computer scince/software engineering field, be in it for the programming not the money. This is exactly why one guy i know is in it. and its just stupid.
anyway, thanks for listening i feel better now, and im gonna go take a nap before i goto death and dieing. :spew:
