Well when I run the executable it starts up. Then displays the Genome @ Home splace screen. Then it briefly displays a dialog box with a progress bar on it.
The nothing.
It just disappears totally. The process list shows it has totally ceased running.
Got any ideas

Can you navigate to the ghclient folder and start it from the icon rather than the start menu?

I would if I had a genome directory. However as the main program installer wont work it is not creating the genome directory and filling it with file.

By any chance is the windows box win95? It will not install unless it gets a couple updates.
Download and install first this One (http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WURecommended/S_WUNetworking/dun13win95/Default.asp)
Then follow up with installing this one (http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloads/contents/WURecommended/S_WUNetworking/dunwinsky2k/Default.asp)

What if somebody wrote a small batch file for him with G@H preconfigured and ziped up, named ginst.zip? Something along the lines of this:
Start.bat
MD C:\Genome
Copy C:\Download\ginst\*.* C:\Genome
Copy C:\Genome\ghclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\Startm~1\Programs\Startup
This would work if you know the dl directory. Also, this would avert the G@H install. All you would have to do is unzip it, and run Start.bat. Reboot, done.
Just an Idea.

Sounds like a great idea.
You wouldnt need to go as far as writing a batch file. I am sure I could figure out where to put the files. I could then just edit the config file to put my details in.
