Sig banner (was request for discussion)

Well, some people liked the idea of a sig banner for away missions. I am currently using a banner which isn't really 100% TGC oriented, but I like it:

Now, your mission - should you choose to accept it is to create a sig banner with reasonable dimensions (550 x 125 max and <25k) that will pimp the team. The top 3, decided by the venerable team poll will have their banner hosted by TGC for use by the team and will be displayed on our Art Gallery.

by eldiablo: The banners look good, but maybe kinda big? I guess if the sites don't mind...

I had a look at a few sites that allow sig graphics and 550x125 seems to be the going max size. This doesn't mean the bannner has to be that big though.

Well, seeing as how we seem to have a ton of top quality sig artists, do you think you guys could knock up say 2 or 3 each, so you could put a couple into a pool. We can pop em up onto our medals page, so people can stick em into their sigg lines asap.

A few have mentioned size, doesa anyone know what the usual permissable dimensions for sig graphics are on most BB's?

Thanks! I'm still working on getting the file sizes down a bit while still keeping it interesting. Making the text layer an overlay has really turned out nice. The next step is to follow verT's request to get the file sizes within 5k for those on dialup. Easiest way to do that is to use mostly shades of one colour. If anyone would like a pimp banner for a particular site, let me know. I can use complimentary colours to make it look like it really should be there. OK... back to work! :D

Those last two are the best yet. The landscape scene does better in the gray shades--it looks like a photograph. After much gazing I decided it was my favorite. Its very different than any other team banner.
