ATTA returns
thanks phil
Oh yeah, didn't I say? Avatars are uploaded. If they slow the bb down too much or cause un-necessary usage of our bandwidth, I will remove them. We have 1500Mb per month bandwidth for the site and forum, any more and I will have to pay extra.
Well just make sure our cache settings are set accordingly. I have set Opera to check cached images after 7 days. HTML is at 15 minutes, to suit BB use.

That has got to be the quickest response I've ever seen!!! Thanks. Wow, she's an old timer in the field. 19 years!!!!!!! She has a bit of experience there. I'm a little curious how EMS is over there. I have a feeling it's a bit different than in the states. At least that's what I hear. After about 4 years I just finally was released at my hospital as a Paramedic. I'm a little apprehensive about being in charge of a truck. For the past couple years I've always had a Paramedic with me, so if I had a question I had someone to ask. Now I have an EMT with me, who isn't going to be able to give me an answer. I guess it's normal when you move up. Can't wait for this feeling to go away.

I'd like a custom avatar too. It's related to my P-f-P website for SETI.
http://home.hccnet.nl/a.alfred/gfx/et-avatar.gif
( <2k in size )
Would it be possible to have the avatar graphs downloaded from other locations by specifying a full url in the user settings? That way you'll save a little on the bandwidth. Not sure if this 'vBB' would allow for such a sollution.
Anyway, good work on the board, apart from the minor cookie trouble, it works like a dream. I like it a lot!
Cheers!
Alfred.

You can grt direct entrace into the paramedic service, but the usual route is via patient transport. Peeps spend a couple of years ferrying folks around, to and from hospita, or between wards/units internally. If they want to move to the ambulance service, they apply and their prev experience usually gets them in. They then spend an unspecified length of time as a Technician, if they want to move up to full blown Paramedic, they have a series of exams to sit Viva's etc. Process usually takes about 2-3 years from becomming a technician. At least that's how I understand it, I may be off on a few details.
BTW, I earn my pennies in an equal rotation between an Intensive Care Unit and a Multiple Injuries Unit. The latter is my preference though, all the RTA's are just so damned challenging. All our pt's are vented, most on pressors, ICP bolts, Swan Ctheters etc - some deeply challenging stuff - I love it ;)

Nice work making it as a paramedic. That is a heck of a job. If you're ever in New York, come to my CME pre-hospital stroke evaluation and management course. Free food, too. Gotta love it.

Thanks, geekboy, I had played around with resampling and editing it too ( the original had some cool text, but really got lost in the wash when scaled down) , so I was hoping someone else could do a better job than I with the original size text-less version. I think your version looks fine, and with Phil's permission, I would like to use it when he can fit it in his busy schedule. :)

Kirek where in Ohio are you at? I was born in Toledo and raised in Columbus. I live in Oklahoma now but still call Ohio home. Once my wife gets out of the Air Force we will be moving back as that's where both of our families still live. Her side lives in Cleveland. Man I miss Ohio. I'll be back there at the end of August for a couple weeks. Had to make a trip back for the State Fair. (The best state fair in the country!!!)

Cool! I lived in Swanton. I have a friend form the Air Force that lives in Wisconsin. I need to get up there to visit him. Never been to Wisconsin and would love to see what it's like. We have some heated debates about Big 10 NCAA football. Cleveland is pretty cool. It gets a bad rap sometimes, but it has really changed. It has a of different places to visit. Jacob's field is a VERY nice stadium. Were supposed to go to Cedar Point while were home next month. Haven't been there for a couple years so I'm looking forward to it. It's funny being down here in Okie. Everyone goes crazy about their six flags parks, and I tell them you haven't seen anything until you visit Cedar Point. I hear their new coaster is pretty cool. I think it's called Mellinnium Force. Well it's good to know I have another Ohioan in here with me!:D

Naughty naughty, 75x75 pixels max. I can easy hit 100 bytes by dropping the size, but the text is unreadable. Do you want to try and get the text readable at 75x75 X? It would be easier to do on the original image.

Haha.. It's a skill I attained back in the fidonet days.. Though not real time like this is, you could get into some pretty hot and heavy Post Wars on the old school BBS's..
Well, for those of you who dont know, Makatiel has been my Quake III name for a long time, and it just carried over from there. Makatiel is actually one of the biblical angels of death from the book of revelation (Angel of Plague) and I thought it would make a great Quake III name (Obscure enough that nobody would have it, yet still sounded cool with an apropriate meaning).
Anyways, I was looking for somthing along the lines of a dark angel or somthing like that, but I haven't had any luck finding one as of yet. Actually, I haven't found one that would look good shrunk down to a 64 x 64 image..
BTW, the keyboard on fire thing may be a good idea.. Last time I was clocked (In high school) I typed over 100 words a minute.. That damn post timer really kills my response time though <G>
EDIT: I'll slow down posting when I have to go back to work on the second *Laugh*

I found this for you: http://members.dingoblue.net.au/~dnar/images/makatiel.gif
And this: http://soiuser.hyperchat.com/makatiel/ but it is not really scalable down to the size you need.

Oh what a shame, that is a damn good picture too.. That's the same problem I have been having, just cant find anything that would look good scaled down like that... :(

I guess I ought to work on mine, I have one that I was playing with, and you can even read the text at 75x55 pixels. Should I send it to Phil? or where?
Geeze I am sooo far behind! The holidays are best remembered, not experienced!
Good Luck!

Hey thanks, Phil! That was fast! It looks better shrunk down. A little playing with a pic I found... Gives me inspiration for some quality work. Hey, is that a beer?...
Thanks!

Hey Phil, I gave the MM pics to Tril... If Tril says any are good enough, and people want'm, you can have them for Avatars. However, I feel that MM isn't as popular as he once was. ;)

Ben, (I mentioned in another thread somewhere) thanks, they are outstanding, superb quality, very nice work. If you're happy, I'll forward em all to Phil for inclusion in our avatar database - really top work, especially as you've managed to get rid of the ghosting so well.
