everyone please take 10 minutes and look at the top 1000 users, pick one with a nice amount of units and email he/she. out of the 90+ people on this board if we all do it, im sure we can get 10-20 new people to help our cause! I've allready started with the head guy from overclockers.au

I'm thinking this approach might backfire. I know I wouldn't take kindly to someone E-mailing about joining their team. Seems like spam. Just my thoughts.

It's defiantly not a good idea to solicit existing genome members. "Pimping" is not taken kindly by most all of the teams.

Getting new people into the project is another thing, but we shouldn't try getting existing G@H users. Such practices could lead to lots of flame wars and such too.

I agree with pelligrini completely, we don't want to be known as the spamming team - bad news all round.

Have you seen the stats lately, 56,000 WU's this week, nearly double anyone behind us. I think we should consolidate our team first, we don't need a massive recruitment drive right now. This team rocks, let others look in, see that and join because thats what they want to be part of.

Also, recruiting from other teams doesn't help the project. It just moves the stats from one place to another. If we are to recruit, then it should be folks new to the project.

Just my 2c

I have to agree also. There have been some comments made on other boards about us pimping. The best thing we can do is keep the board active and show what a good bunch of people are here. Every time I log in there are 3 or 4 visitors, eventually some will join. ;)

I agree with "Do not solicite members from existing teams!".

I have recruited about 9 people from work this week. If everything pans out, they will be crunching under my name, or as new members of The Genome Collective. I put together a client disk with a small HTML document describing my reasons for running Genome. Also in the document are links to the stanford website and our portal.

Most people, including myself are inherently lazy. The more you do for them, the better chance you have of succeeding. Telling them about it is not enough for most people.

If you see my stats start going through the roof within the next 2 weeks, you'll know I was correct :)

Thats great Rick, what a good idea m8!. Maybe you could share that HTML document with us, if it's specifiec to you perhaps I/someone could make a generic version....

That is a great idea Rick_Deadly. And for those of us that can't do all the cool stuff that you have to recruit people, but would still like to recruit maybe you can share.
