When I go to mIRC I get the whole "checking ident" errors there are some servers that I can not access because I am not allowing the "checking ident" I have figured out that it has something to do with my router. Any suggestions?

Hmmm, this should be an easy fix. Go to File > Options. Expand the "connect" heading and click "Identd". Now select "Enable Identd server". Choose the following options (use your name  :) ) and it doesn't matter what you put in the system box.

I already have that selected Phil. I am being told that its because I go thru a router that i have to open a port. I just have not been sucessful at doing that. When I plug my computer directly into the cable modem it goes thru fine, but if I hook it back up to the router I get stopped by the "checking ident"

Yes MIRC requires a grouping of ports to be forwarded through if your going to use all the functions i have mine set up to allow 6 DCC sends. so i have only 6 ports open to dcc 1 for ident and 2 for server communications...heres the details:
DCC: 4994-5000 (Set these in your DCC options also, or it wont work)
IDentServ: 113
MIRC Main server communication: 6667
Dalnet itselft (Which iwas useing for a while): 6661 -6669, which you can make actually 6666, due to te MIRC ports.
Thats bout it!
Worked great ever scince!

I changed modems but I have the same router. I am getting the IDENT errors again. I checked the Router and the ports are open. I also checked me mIRC setup and it has PORT 113 for Ident. Is there anything else Im missing?
