Could've been worse, they could've been forced to listen to "The Stray Katz". ;) or "Faster Pussycat" :D
...or, worst of all, Cat Stevens. ;) :D

Now don't knock Cat Stevens.
He had a few good songs . . .
. . . in his day. ;)

I believe there were Tea for the Tillerman (mentioned by Theresa) and Teaser and the Firecat. Of course, there's the greatest Hits cd which I own, but I prefer the old tape I have. It has both albums, recorded to casette tape from lp by my parents. It sounds so much better with the little pops and cracks from dust in tact.
(I started listening to him at 18 also, and my parents haven't seen the tape since. :D )
edit: of course I should add that I also like Prodigy. I guess my tastes are kind of a mix.

I guess you made your parent's happy then.
