OK RH is sitting there... I don,t have the patience to wait till I get a 3rd machine Linux-Only... so will dual boot on the Celery 566 (secondary machine) with win2k for awhile....
Partition 1 (windoze disk C:): 4 gig
Partition 2 (D:): 4 gig
Resized so it goes C: 5 gig and D: 3 gig
Win 2k is on the D: partition (can't seem to remember why I did that .... one of those drunk' install I guess... ???)
SO: I think I should split the C: drive to have a FAT32 small 500 meg C: drive and a new 4,5 gig D: drive, where old D: drive get'S to be E: drive.... still with me?
Then install RH 7.1 on /dev/hda2 (D: for win2k)
Install LILO.... now I know that technically I should not be able to boot into win2k from now on....
Now I think I have to edit lilo.conf so it goes
other=/dev/hda3
label=win
then I should be able to dual boot?
ANy input would be HIGHLY appreciated before I jump in that ship.... :gigglelikeachild:

Umm, yes? No? Who the hell knows?
Try this:
ghost<cr>
format C:<cr>
And start from scratch. Then you can ghost back the windows partition whenever you want to. Of course, it would help if you had the ghost proggie...

Ok X, I still have a basic Win95 installation on my C: or /dev/hda1. Plus 3 different kernels all residing on /dev/hda10. So this is quad-boot! here is my /etc/lilo.conf for your reference:
[wayne@Criten /etc]$ more lilo.conf
boot=/dev/hda
append="hdc=ide-scsi"
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
message=/boot/message
linear
default=Win4Lin-686
# RedHat 7.0 Install Kernel - i386
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.2.16-22
label=Linux-386
read-only
root=/dev/hda10
# TreLOS for Win4Lin kernel - i386
image = /boot/win4lin
label = Win4Lin-386
read-only
root = /dev/hda10
# Compiled Win4Lin kernel - i686
image = /boot/bzImage-2.2.16-22-Win4Lin-686
label = Win4Lin-686
read-only
root = /dev/hda10
# That other crappy operating system (its a joke)
other=/dev/hda1
label=Win95
Note: I beleive your W2K installation would be on /dev/hda2 if it is the 2nd partition or D: , so edit "other=/dev/hda2" accordingly.
PS Just how do you protect tabs and spaces in posts??? The above lilo.conf does in fact have spaces before most lines....

Use the [ c o d e ] somecode [ / c o d e ] without the spaces or the " # " hot key button over the post window....
it should look like this:
cf include dnar.lib
cout >> "Your a freakin' Linux God"
cout >> "Hello World"
end
There ya go...
