I was reading Picards board. Data says that running Genome, or Seti for too long, the CPU goes stale. Doesn't produce the same. Especially with via chipsets.
I have never noticed this. I would think that this is just perception, getting used to the same numbers constantly.
The numbers stay the same for me week to week, unless I change anything. Has anyone ever noticed anything like this?

Nope not I. I am not watching the stuff that closely..

Mine seems to have slowed down. But I have been picking up more big numbers more the anything. Before it seemed to be mainly running low 50's. Now the average seems to be in the high 80's or 90's range.

I don't believe it. It seems to me that if the clock frequency remains constant, than the capacity to do work should do the same.

No offense to data, but this is just an absolute load of crap! CPU's process a given number of instructions per clock cycle.... end of argument....

No never noticed that on S@H or G@H & I’ve got 5 via's?? I will keep a close eye on it tho over the next week or two :)

Anythihng watched closely will actually slow down... Fact... Try it today, fill the kettle and stand keeping an eye on it while it boils... I swear it will take longer...... :D

Actually the pot will boil in exactly the same amount of time....but if you watch it and concentrate all the clocks in your house will slow down. Note: trying to glance at the clock will ruin the effect.
and for the record my toilet water swirls counter-clockwise....except on Tuesday.
It probably still does on Tuesday I just haven't ever checked. :D

Ahhhh, time! E=Mc2
You're spot on though, data's observations are total crap! A clock cycle is a clock cycle end of story.
