Is out, I actually got to a download page yesterday. I was downloading at a blistering 2-3 KB/s. :rolleyes: Until it timed out. :D

finally got into a ftp site downloading at 76k 2 hours later power went off....tonight started downloading iso 2 got through 88% cable service went down. 1 hour later cable service back up ftp resume wont work. Start downloading from scratch iso 2 window freeze. I knew I should of downloaded under Linux.

How the hell does service go down for the whole southern part of the state ???????????? CABLEONE SUCKS

*If* you can get through ftp://andromeda.acs.uci.edu is really fast.
I was getting 250KBps when I downloaded Redhat 8.0 :cool:
I think they allow 30 users at night but only 8 during the day.

You only need the first 3 disks btw...the other 2 are source code.

Finally have 8.0 installed. Sure looks pretty.
My opinion but it seems to run faster than 7.3
Package manager is an interesting change. Makes life easier for me being a newbie to linux.
Now if I can get 128 encryption working so I can get into my bank account life would be great.

Me is writing from RH8 on IronMan new boxen.
Can't get better then 800X600 resolution thought... says doesn't recognize my monitor...???? It's an Optiquest Q71 (oldie but goodie)
Now to install DF...

I have DF, g@h .99 and F@h 3.14. They run great. I do prefer 3.14 because of the logging. Makes life easy.
What hardware are u running ?
