need input on what to upgrade next..

I am thinking its time for a faster cpu, but should I keep some of this stuff ?

currently have the following:

700mhz amd athlon not OC'ed
abit ka7-100
40 gig wd 7200rpm hard drive
gefore nvidia 32mb 4x agp
1x512 meg pc133 sdram
10x cdrw hp 9300 series
300w amd approved ps


have a good case, I belive its an Iwin, cools great. I wouldn't mind keeping it unless I can pick something up for about 50 bucks. I know the cpu is slow and that should be the first to go, but i'd still like to heard what anyone else thinks...

Cheap and fast:

Duron 900 and Hercules Prophet 4500 :)

A little more expensive and rocking:

Athlon 1.2Ghz and Hercules Prophet III :D


And of course, overclock all of them :D :D

I'd have to agree with Rick... if you're gaming with that sys you'll definately want to upgrade the cpu and vid card. Wait as long as you can thou as prices are always dropping... the rest of the stuff is great, why anyone really needs a 16x burner is beyond me(i can't even get a snack in the time it takes to burn a cd @ 8x...)! :cool:

might want to upgrade your motherboard also since your running Slot A. The upper range Slot A processors are pretty spendy and it might be worth the extra few bucks to upgrade to a Socket A configuration.
