I ordered a couple of TKozan's 486 laptops... Will these run one of those firewall packages we were talking about earlier? Does Linux have good support for PCMCIA modems & nic's?

A 486 would bge perfect! A laptop too! Very quiet and small.

Check the 4meg laptop howto.

Just don't restart it! I helped install RedHAt 7.1 on a friend 486, and it took an hour to install and about 5 minutes to start up. Once it was up it was fast for a 486

Yeah - not a bad deal at $25 a pop. Hey Dnar, what was the name of that release that fit on a 1.44?
