Okay next prediction: we will spend about 5 weeks at the number 5 spot and then move into the number 4 slot!

So all you artists out there best get busy on a design for #4! (BTW the 5 design is very :cool: )

I personally think it's gonna take a bit longer. OCN has a tremendous team and have definately risen to every occassion thus far and this shouldn't be any different. At least Genome will benefit from the competition.

I started working on some stats...

Based on the average of the production for the past week, we'll be there in 34 days... 2001/09/06

I'll make something that's live, refreshed at each updates (8 times/day) and if it's cute enough maybe Phil will want to stick it at the top of the page next to our logo (I'll try to match colors :D)

Now : 2001/08/03 00:00

Units to #4 : 110,788.88
Target : 2001/09/06 06:00
Days : 34.25

Units to #3 : 196,587.24
Target : 2001/09/13 15:00
Days : 41.625

:cool:

You'll see the ship slowly sink under the TGC wave... I'm going out of town for the weekend but I'll bring my laptop (crunching nonet :)) and work from there, it should be ready sunday night...

WoW! Those 2 teams are projected to be passed in the same week. That is going to be 1 exciting week. We need to get something special planned for that party.:D Those stats are nice to have, we should have them posted somewhere.

We need another graph update MaTrix. Looks to me like we are still on track (5 weeks at 5)! :cool: Maybe you could give us a weekly update on the graph? That is if it isn't too big of a project!

Actually you can do it yourself with the help of the statsman's statistics page. Right now it looks like Sept 5, baring a large difference in hidden nonet WUs.

Nice dump Dave.

Since August 1...

This show the number of remaining days to position #4.

We currently have about 25 days to go to position 4 but that's now (last line of the graph 21:00) if we looked earlier today, the target was almost 5 days later... There's no stability in our output so as you can see on the graph, the target date keep changing all the time...

Still have some work to do on it but this is a preview of what's coming to track our progress to #3 and #4... We'll see the lines shrinking everyday...

4 - OCN - Green
3 - GRGI - Blue

http://pages.infinit.net/jclaudev/genome/ETA.jpg Very good overview! Let's see if I get it...
-The left margin represents the total units crunched with 08/01 as a reference point.
-The length of the bars is the lead both teams still have over us.
-The dates at the far right are the dates we are likely to overtake them based on the weekly average.

? But what does the lighter end of each bar mean? Something to do with the daily average?

Thanks. A:

Nothing to do with units, it's all about dates... How many days remaining...

The date on the left side and the left margin of the bars match.

The difference between the margins for 2 dates show the size of 21 day on the scale of the graph.

The date on the right also match the right margin, it's the maximum date for that day. That's the reason for the lighter area on the bars. I show only 1 bar for a day but receive 8 updates of the stats and there's a lot of fluctuations in the production. The left side of the lighter area is the minimum date.

While the left margin is moving evenly on a daily basis, the right margin also shrinking is showing that we're doing better than at 08/01 (or maybe we produced the same but they're not doing as good as they did back then...)

Got it thanks.

Would be nice to have that graph live on the main page of the TGC website. It is _the_ event for the team the coming weeks.

Cheers,

Once I read your explination a dozen time, and after consulting with the wife and my 8 most immediate neighbors, I do finally understand the graph... Blue good guys... Green bad guys :)

Rick_Deadly;

I think Green are Overclockers Network and Blue are the Itailans -- SO BOTH BAD GUYS. The graph primarily represents the difference day by day between us and them.

Very nice stats Matrix. I would like to see some kind of status on our progress posted in a stationary place. Are we going to get number 4 before number 4 gets number 3?

Green=OCN
Blue=GRGI
The blue bar being longer than the green one show it all :D For OCN to take #3 before us, the blue bar would be shorter than the green one...

You can take a bookmark straight to the graph, I'll update the image as often as possible but address will stay the same:

:D EVERYWHERE :D

The graph show remaining days to pass them... When there's no bar left, we're there...
Left margin is today, right margin is when we expect to pass them, based on weekly average... Lighter area at right is today's min and max... It was explained somewhere in this thread...
