I ordered one of these Sunday night, pissed as a newt, while chatting with Phil (it's his fault). :)

At AUD$100 (not including fan) it is not cheap, but hey, I "need" it. :)

My original plan was to drop a spare 80mm 3000RPM 40CFM PAPST fan onto it, but I may just drop the Volcano 7 fan on (upto 5000RPM variable speed) and have a play with extreme overclocking...

I can't wait for this puppy to arrive. :)

I'll post pic's and report once it arrives. :)

Don't blame me....I hardly twisted your arm :). Seriously though, I think the PAPST will be more than capable of keeping your CPU cool. My 2x XP2400's @2325MHz are running at 46C full load using 2x 80mm YSTechs that are rated at 1850rpm, 27cfm, 20dBa.

Wow... I will try the PAPST first then. :)

My theory was that I could run a faster fan and acheive more cooling. More cooling = more overclocking. More cooling = more noise, and that was one reason for getting a better HSF.

Is there anyone in here using the SLK-800 on a ECS K7S5A ?
My one HSF I can only use 1 DIMM socket because it takes up too much room.

Got one with an Alpha 8045 and another with the MC462. Both fit easily and I can use both DIMMs.

w00t, the new SLK-800 is fitted, with a "3000RPM" PAPST 80mm fan, vitals are:-

SLK-800/PAPST 80mm
RPM: 3110
CPU: 41C
Noise: Tollerable

Volcano 7/80mm
RPM: 4800
CPU: 46C
Noise: Annoying

I still may drop the 5000rpm Thermaltake fan on, when my fan bus arrives. That way I can have my cake and eat it too. :)

Well I recieved my stuff in the mail. They held my order for 2 weeks to wait for the floppy drive that was out of stock. I would of liked an email from them about this but none was sent. That was my only problem. All items arrived well packaged. Company has good shipping prices and good product prices. I will be putting in another order. within 3 weeks.
