Running trough my vinyl collection and found out that I have a really odd cellection.
And many records of "unknown" bands.
Anybody heard of:
Royal court of China
Dogs D' Amoure
Johnny Chrash
Ballam and the angels
Zodiac mindwarp and the love reaction
Lot's of rareties from bands like Led Zeppelin, AC/DC and KISS. :D
It's everything from folk songs till speed metal.
Now is Phsycedelic Fürs on my LP player.
Next will be Death.

I've got Sounds of the Sixties, Classic Rock, Singers & Songwriters - all compilations from Time-Life. A lot of Status Quo, Led Zep, ELO, Manowar, Mike Oldfield, The Sweet, Def Leppard, Meatloaf, Pink Floyd, Rush, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Ozzy & Sally Oldfield all on CDs.
On vynil, I've got Status Quo, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, Saxon, Magnum, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Mike Oldfield & some I can't remember off the top of my head.
On cassettes I've got a similar sort of mix.

I don't have any punk - there are only a few groups I liked & not well enough to spend money on them.

I am a vinylophile...have heaps from original beatles thru 70s disco and 80s UK goth to the original Metallica Garage Days EP. Some things (especially punk) just dont sound right on CD.....Pistols in digital purity just comes across all wrong!

Maybe back in the 80's, but not these days. :(
They're second album is'nt that great.
I agree that punk sound best on vinyl, but I like viny best anyhow.
Not just because of it's warm sound, but also the covers. :)
It's not so fun to read on a small cd cover. :(
I got the Garage Days EP also, and a dubbel EP of Master of the Puppet's. -limited edition. :D
And onether thing I have that is worth a lot, is an KISS single (shaped like an EP)
with athographs on the B side.
And Creatures of the Knight and Rock'n roll all nite on the A side.
The special thing with the A side is that they have put the song on each other rile (hope you understood that)
If you put in on the beginning, first song start's, and if you put it on to the beginning again, next song start's. :D

you're right about being able to get more extras with LP's..
Dead Kennedys Frankenchrist with "that" banned painting (hanging in the washington gallery or somewhere apparently, but got the album banned), "give me convenience...." had a book in it which must have been 30 pages, and "fresh fruit....." the most amazing collage of distorted newspaper images yo could ever find....awesome stuff!!
not only didnt it sound better on CD it wasnt nearly as entertaining! :D
plus you cant play a cd backwards so the religious loons havent got anything to do anymore ... ;)

I had an Dead Kennedy EP once who I was told had been banned.
Can't remember what It's called.
(I sold it cause I was offered a LOT of money, and I was broke as you are when you are a teenager) :(
Had been fun to have it now.
But I do have that Iron Maiden EP were Margareth Thatcher has been killed by Eddie.
Who also was banned, and later re-released. :D
It's from the Dianno days. :D :)
