The Dutch Power Cows were number 1 crunching team for the RC5 challenge the last time I checked....They have an awesome amount of cruching power at their disposal and could easily take the number 1 spot if every member switched to Genome...beware!!

Sorry but i think it's not polite to pimp in other groups:o but I agree that we never can have to many peeps on board. :D
But it must be people who are still floating around or want to switch over by them self.

Just an off the cuff comment. I think it is rude too. I hope I didn't offend you.

Cheers

Sniper_Virus is in 16th place on individuals on Genome and we are trying to take 15th from ronbo. And it turns out he is not even on a team. I wish we could contact him.

That's them alright. Don't make these cows mad! (They might just get sick, OTOH who knows?)

Anyway, if anyone needs a translation of something, either Nofinger or I can provide that. (any other NL peeps here?)

Yep, that's us. Got here by a post of nofinger in our forum. And yes it was a dump, iirc there are only 8 active members at the moment doing g@h.

I think that through this dump there will be more members of us joinen g@h.

Currently we're running: RC5, OGR, ECCP, Think, seti@home, genome@home and iirc folding@home. I guess we total to about 5000 members throughout all projects.

I must say it's always nice to see another team with a nice forum.

SST, nope you probably won't succeed ;)

We have enough mods on this board, that it's hard to sneak around and get away with anything. :D

Hello guys!

After the polite posts of Nofinger, i desided to take a look here. I hope you understand my english, cause it aint the language i normaly use :D

As Scraper already told you, the DPC are participating in a lot of contest. It started with RC5 but at the moment we took first place, we also started with other project.

Our primary goal: Beat Team AnandTech at every project they are participarting in :)

Secundary goal: Get as high as posible, No 1 !! (Or at least get in to the Top 10.)

We have about 19 active members on this moment. And with actice, i mean the members that were active the last 7 days...

Our primary goal for Genome@home on this moment is to get enough pc-power for a top10 position in de daily stat.

Second goal, (for me at least) is to pass The Knights Who Say Ni

I hope you will reach the Nr 1 position and maybe we join you in the top 10 Overall when time is ready ;)

Greetings

Don't worry about Team Anandtech. RC5 is the only project that they are good at. All of their other DC teams are pitiful.

Pjabber
3rd August 2001, 12:26
I know that now :D

We have beaten them on all projects except Seti (i believe).

The reason for this is very simple, we started to late with that project. And now we are participating there, we cant find enough people tho join Seti :( I guess that DPC members dont believe in aliens :D

Most members prefer working on more usefull projects.

You got that right. I see we still have that 30sec delay between post :D

I don't think it is an issue of believing in aliens. If they're like me, it is very much about being useful work -- and being a useful project.

If 50% of the active computing power of seti suddenly quit working on that project, every WU would still be analyzed at least twice -- )to confirm all results). If that active computing power was put to work on something else -- GREAT. And you get a double bonus if you think it is on something more useful -- which G@H is, IMHO.

Yes, G@H has more of a meaning to me. Medical science, very useful. Finding lites in da sky, fun but not exactly useful.
