A new algorithm and client are being proposed and with it a whole new stats process. Some want the stats re-started, some rolled over, some want two lots of stats - new stats and combined stats. What do you think? I will post the result at Free-DC in a week.

My goal at the moment is overtaking TGA78 - which is something that I'll be close to doing in 22 days. And after that, I'll start stalling - the 2.9Mil/day folks behind me will catch up and pass me, and the slow moving folks above me will be vastly higher and take forever to catch up to. :)
So, I'll survive with whatever happens.
As I posted on that forum as tpdooley - the present scores in team and for the project do give a lot of rungs to climb up.. and after you've climbed up a large number, the addiction can set in, and you're tempted to add to your collection of computers to get further ahead, faster. ;) (be it team, or project). The project folks are the only ones I've passed in the last month, since I ended up leaving the hour that I became position #2 on OcWorkbench.
It took me 6 months to get to 100 mil; I'm making over 10 mil a week - and will get to the same spot in 2 months..

I've been lurking on the thread addressing the issue on the DF forum. I like the idea of keeping some reference to the achievements of participants in DF I. It seems to me that Dyyryath could easily stick in a color-coded star and a rank number in new stats.
I will continue DF regardless of the decision, of course. Howard is a cool dude.

Yeah, I'm just glad I am new to this...when this was going to take place with G@H...I almost killed myself. Now, I only vote to zapp everything, because it would give me a chance to be at the top. But, I do know how it must feel for those with out large farms and are about to lose their ranks. <--for them :D <--for me.

I'm not doing DF at the moment, but I don't like the idea about zeroing the stats.
The one with most cpu power will take number one
The one with second most cpu power will take number two
....
The point with stats is competition between the users.
When everybody starts at zero there will be no competition.
If you got the 2.nd most powerful farm you will be stuck at number 2
Who wants to do a project when you know that you will be number 20 without any competition?
Climbing in the stats is the fun part, not be in the same place forever.

My point exactly, Hans and posted on the Free-DC board.

I have not crunched for DF for a long time now but I do not want to see the stats start over. I do not like erasing history.

As far as I am aware, the stats for "phase/ stage 1" will still be kept and will be accessible. Phase/ stage 2 stats would start from scratch. I personally believe this should happen as it is a totally new phase with new algorithm and new client and new pretty much everything.

If Dyyryaath would announce that he will do old/new/joint stats, I think most people would be satisfied. Or course, we would all have to continue with our current handles but I have seen no intention for that to change.

I would love to hold my current folding stats  but if they are being zeroed I'm not going to cry about it :D

I know what you mean... but I think if they make serious changes then it will be better if they zero the stats.

Damnit Hans...why are you so smart....I would lose most of my intrest to know I was stuck in the same spot unles I buy more or get passed... :(
