View Full Version : What now?
Well, we had pretty much decided that if the merger went through, I would reset the BB and remove all posts and set the users post count back to zero. Judging by how some of these threads are going at the moment, I'll let you decide on how this should go.
As a welcoming jesture from an ex-Alt.something-or-other member, to all the new team members, I choose not to place my vote.
I would rather leave it to the new faces to decide.

Ditto.
My vote is to leave things as they are as there are some interesting threads as well as some good help threads in progress. The only change I see neccessary is the name which can be decided after we get input from all members.

I'd delete the vote threads, but the others can stay.

Phil, can it be easily changed to insertnewnamehere: :D :D :D
I note that "others" have noticed this too.

Ah the heck with it. Delete those puppies and let's get a fresh start.
I wonder if it is possible to 'archive' the *active* threads and then revive them after everything is zeroed out? Seems to me this was possible on the old vB boards but not sure for this version.

I say all we need to do is zero dnar's post count :)
Man, you've over 100 posts in 24 hrs - you maniac :)

A thought on that - phil, can you remove the vote thread and archive em somewhere. Just in case ther's an old a.c.h.o member in Outer Mongilier, who missed the vote and wants some evidence of a democratic decision. Save em for a few weeks then ditch em ;)

Hehe - looks like you've got competition dnar :D
Whoa... Siggy's on a posting frenzy ;)
I have a hunch this posting frenzy is a side effect of Genomers disease....
G.I.B.B.E.R. (Genomer Intense Bulletin Board Expresion Rage).
It is terminal....
So, only 22 votes, thats not much of a representation. Then again, did anyone from the Alt.what.was.there.name team vote? Whats the go then, are the maniacal posting of the past 48 hours staying, or going???

Dunno mate.
I was all for re-setting the BB, but now there are tons of interesting threads, with all sorts of discussions going on. Now I think I'm for keeping the threads going. I could care less what happens to the post count though - we never had one on Usenet ;)
With ya there, I would personally also like to see the posts stay, but the counts, heck, they only serve to show what a loud mouth you are....
On the Linux NG's we get "top 10 posters for the month". Honestly, I hardly ever make an appearance on those ratings...

Batten down the router, secure the RAID array, switch on the spare onramps...... We have another outbreak of G.I.B.B.E.R. syndrome....
Well, as you can see 60% want the board to stay the way it is. I will now close this thread and we can get onto some proper business....kicking butt :D
