Just wondering was it able to restart or did it need to be purged?

I tried to restart the client, it crashed soon after. Yup, purge required.

Read a post from Stefan... there are problems with some Linux distros and the new .99 client. Penguins beware!

Yeh, I saw that one. its a library verision problem, that results in client immediate failure when run. Different problem.

RedHat 7.0/7.1 users are not affected.

Not with siggy i hope.... Siggy lives in Virginia, US and you be a warm penguin in Australia.

Maybe us penguins should go to Antarctica or other cold climate for better overclocking and penguining skillz

I don't remember if you're a linux or windows guy. The windows 0.99 seems to be more stable and slightly faster than 0.98. I suggest that if you have a crash, or stop the client for any other reason, you upgrade. Otherwise forget it.

The nice thing is that on a couple of my previous crashes, I backed up the directory before clearing. I was able to restart those partially completed genes and finish them for full credit!

If you DO have a crash, be sure to back up the directory. Send it to Stefan (for debugging), and keep it for future completion.
