I was doing some research(as usual) and stumbled onto this quote at computing.net concerning overclocking:

.... and it is "safe", just know where the clear CMOS jumper is
I think that really sums it up! :D

<edit> geeze... my spelling sucks! That should be "advice".... <edit>

umm... you lost me....

You mean if you F up your voltage settings, or pass word out your bios......

Hmm...my bios can revert back the settings if I no popst/no vid my system by settings (I've done it before) And, as far as password blocking your bios.... useless. Everyone knows to just go after the jumper to by pass it. Or, just steal the HDD to another system for access.

I'm stupid, you can't just post something, you must explain it like you would a three year old. ;)

ROFL! Sure Louis, some of the new boards can reset to default bios settings after a non-boot with the simple press of a key... but not very many can do that. When you push 'em too far, sometimes there's only one solution... the cmos jumper. Some boards are setup to use the "home" or "insert" key to reset the bios when booting up... but i've run into situations where it just doesn't work. Removing the battery or using the cmos jumper are the only remedies. :o :) :D

I understand now. ;) Thanks Phillip.

Okay, I see what you mean...I guess I never thought about it, because back when I had my PII 300 mhz, and crappy MoBo...I thought Over clocking was as crazy an idea as HAARP.

I never tried any of that until the T-bird, Asus combo. My Asus is great....Del key for bios, auto restore upon no-post/no-vid, and insert key to restore factory cmos settings at boot.

It's all very convienent...............If I's wasn't so GHETTO!!!!!!!
