Howard has posted a message saying:
1) The servers are being restored from backups
2) Don't try to upload the moment the servers come back on-line
3) Full credit will be given for old protein structures uplaoded for two days after the servers are restored

I have yet to have a good changeover . This is really frustrating...it must be worse for larger farmers :banghead:

Hopefully, this latest changeover and all the problems that it had - won't keep the larger farms from the project.
/e not so silently curses the fact I tried switching to the 89AA protein on a few machines and lost a whole day's production on a few machines.... ;)

M2K Guy switched 120 machines to GAH because he couldn't stand them being idle. Hopefully he will bring them back soon.

Stats update info. You have 24hrs to upload the 96AA as of 2/26/03 9:00PM EST to receive full credit, 48hrs to receive half credit according to the news page @ DF.............goldie

MikeTimbers, thanks for your concern, M2K+1 has his ;) machines all back on DF again. It was a lousy changeover this time, but Howard still runs the best Distributed Computing project there is. He not only stays on top of the technical issues, but he also responds to messages fairly quickly and is by far the most involved project leader that I am aware of.

I agree that Howard runs a great project. It's just a shame that the changeovers can be traumatic which is why I suggested on the Free-DC forum that the changeovers should happen in the morning (Howard-time) instead of the afternoon so he is able to monitor the aftermath for longer before going home.
