Without a doubt Folding@home has the best science out of all the projects TGC is currently involved in. Distributed Folding in 2nd and Genome last. I've never thought Genome was a very good project, but at the time all I had was dialup and well, let's face it, that's all I could do. I would like to contribute to one of our projects, especially f@h, but each time I switch my beloved 4 computers, the few people that are running f@h, their production just diminishes. This project has the most team competition by far over any of the other medical type projects. Are we gonna make a go of it or should I stick with Distributed folding?

I think that FAH is a better science and I support this science by crunching. I have done GAH ( I still do just with my slow machines), DF which is fun and fast ( I have not crunched in sometime for DF) and FAH which has become a passion of mine.
I have seen an increase in participation in the last couple of weeks for Team 131. I think if we all got together we could be a thorn in many teams sides and would give them a real good run for the money.
I do like the new client and it seems to work very well.
For support they have a large forum where answers come quickly. My vote would be for FAH.

I definately agree that we can be a thorn in many peoples sides, however, I think we've missed the boat to be a top competitor. We have way too much ground to make up. I do like the client better in f@h.

DF, Virus, DF! We're a player at DF. We're nowhere in FAH. See my other post in the "Direction" thread.

DF is the most exciting DC project I've contributed to. I like the client stability and the Dyyryath stats and Howard's amazing respect for his crunchers but that isn't what makes it exciting. Its the science. The CASP 5 data led to an immediate and possibly breakthrough change in the software. Its thrilling. The next few months with DF2 may bring some terrific results. If they don't, who knows what DF3 might bring?

We are nowhere because no one wanted to crunch FAH. But it looks like that is changing. :D
