Well after reading through the board it seems Folding is the way to go after classic is ended. I'll dump my cache soon and switch over I guess. DF just isn't very appealing to me. Anyone else going to switch to our Folding team?
I was only about 8k short of hitting the 100k mark. That soooo pisses me off. Oh well, guess I should get over it. Anything I should know about the folding client? I was using genome driver for classic and it worked great for hiding the client and running it as a service. I need an add on prog for folding so I can keep it hidden on all my comps. Any info would ne appreciated.

I'll be joining you in Folding as soon as I break 100K in Genome. Less than 6K to go here; I'll have to finish out on the new client but so what. Maybe we can help each other out working the kinks in Folding.

Can you break 100k before May 5th? Good luck. No way I can get 8k by then, so I'll just switchover now.
I've put F@H on a couple comps now but I'm confused. I assumed the text only version would be better, but it seems I can't put the 2 extra parameters in with it. If I use the graphical version I can, but it seems that version would run slower. Not sure though. Can anyone help?

I'm not changing clients until the end of the month. '-nonet' works for my situation better than anything else. I can't make the snapshot date because I'm invested in 'Project 800K' with most of my production (such as it is). I'll dink around with the new client for G@H until I make my Centurion pin after the fact.
Running F@H on two of my machines at work. Prolly going to have to give up on the DNS / DHCP machine since it's been assigned to doing backups now on top of everything else. The farm will change out on 1 May to the new client. After 100K, everything but the Alpha and the touch screens goes to F@H. Since nobody but Berkeley wants to write a client for an Alpha, I'm going to turn it into a Linux firewall and gateway after SETI switches over and since there's no time limit on G@H units, the two Pentium touch screens will keep running Genome until something changes there.
Oh well, I'm rambling again. Folding is where I started out crunching proteins and I'm happy to be going back. My SETI top 1000 didn't make the top 150 cut so I'm not leaving anything behind there. Plus side is getting a gateway that HAS to work better than W2K Internet Connection Sharing without paying for a 3-Com.
Time for bed. Catch you later.
