Well I have installed XP Pro this weekend, on my kid's PC. Not bad.

I find it offensive that M$ fight Linux using puppets like SCO, yet it is obvious they look hard at Linux and take idea's and approuches for their own OS. The XP installer looks so like RedHat's now, the idea of inbuild CD burning, even watching the safe mode loader you can see several concepts from Linux.

<bitch over>

XP is nice, once you turn off all the silly bubble gum themes and effects.

I learnt the hard way, make sure ACPI is ON before installing. Also, for some stupid reason, XP kept crashing on the Abit VL6, so now it's running on an old Intel AL440LX.

The kid's are happy, they were using 95 until now, at least they each have a login, as do I. I am GOD. :)

Still, comming back to a nice dual-head Linux desktop is much better. ;)

I used to use "rootbackwards" because you could say it out loud and eavesdroppers would spend ages typing in "toor" without success!

My trend is to use peoples names followed by the magic numbers 04169. Get it? ;)
