Is this any good? Should I use Kazaa Lite? Is it safe? What sort of stuff is available? How easy is it to find what you want?

I'm mainly interested in mp3s of music I have on vinyl and can't be arsed to transfer. I'm not really a games player and I have all the software I need (especially just after my annual trips to Thailand :D )

Older stuff is a bit harder to find, use Kazaa Lite though. I don't use file sharing very much, a little bit more since I bought a portable MP3 player though

I use Gtk-Gnutella, and have no trouble finding what I want. I have a 26Gb MP3 collection thanks to P2P, some effort on dialup!

Kazaalite has a nice host file along with it also. Drops out some of the ads while surfing as a bonus.

I thought u had broad band. How can u live with yourself :D

My Broad band provider has started shutting down their lines to subscribers who use p2p software for fear of lawsuits. Something to think about .........

i recommend avoiding Kaaza... RIAA is all over that shit. Morpheus is also pretty well watched, altho it is my theory that you would be safe so long as you do not host alot of files for others to download. it seems to me that everyone thats getting nailed is hosting 2000 some songs they have on their computer. Either way i would recommend against it. then again, if your not in the states...maybe they will leave you alone?

Stay away from Kaaza. Despite their policy, they use spyware.

Id second WinMX over Kazaa

I was just today trying to download some of Bowies Reality CD and all the tracks on Kazaa were Jean Genie renameds.. Really %&*$#% me off.

Fired up WInMX and had the songs I wanted in no time flat and this time they are the real songs.

RIAA is flooding the kazaa networks with so many bogus files its making it harder and harder to find what you want.

Am I correct in saying that Kazza does not let you have seprate upload and dowload directories? (I dont run it, but I am sure I read that somewhere).

I use gtk-gnutella, and seprate directories are used there, and thats a great help...
