OK - here is the problem.

My monitor doesn't want to run above 60Hz at 1280*960 whereas it does in Windows.

In Windows there is a nice little menu where you can change the refresh rate. In Linux there is no such thing.

You can change the Vertical Refresh Rates, but it is only a range (50-160 in my case). There must be a way to force my monitor to use 70Hz at 1280*960 like it does everyday in Windows. This is really annoying me now because I'm getting a real headache.

Hmmm... don't have it in front of me... but can't you edit it in your XF86Config file? Which distro Rizzo?

I'm using RH9.

All my XF86Config allows me to do it ajust the range (50 - 160) for the VRefresh. There is no way to make it use a certain refresh.
