I decided to pick up one of the new Durons($62 Cdn) just to see what it could do... a 1.4 GHz(10.5x133). This particular chip is multiplier locked(argh!), but there's plenty of room to boost the FSB with an ABit NF7-S. I have only sad news to report... it couldn't run stable at 2 GHz, not even with 1.9vcore(1.5 default). Sure, windows would boot fine, but prime95 would give errors within seconds on starting the torture test. Temp was not a factor... the highest i saw was 42c. I'm working on finding the sweet spot as i type.... 1.8 at default vcore is churning away happily. I'll keep ya'll posted.

It's running with a CoolerMaster Aero 7+ @2500rpm(variable between 1850-3500). We may have a case for "burn-in" here... damn thing is at 1954 MHz 1.5vcore(default), 22c above ambient, still chomping away prime95 after 30 mins or so... I'll let it run a bit more before cranking it up another notch.

Well it looks like this puppy is charmed at 1975Mhz... only an extra 575 MHz... *sigh* That's at 18-22c above ambient and at the default 1.5vcore... seems more voltage doesn't do a thing for it! Not too bad i guess for $62 Cdn($48 US). The price isn't the only good thing, the sweet spot happens to be at 187 MHz FSB... that should be just after the 1/6 divider kicks in for those with KT400 based boards. :)

Some info on the chip:
Duron 1600+
DHD1400DLV1C
MIXIB0338VPMW
O/C - 1400/1975 Mhz = 41% Increase, default 1.5 vcore = :)

Cool, not a bad little boost in speed.
Have you tried undervolting it?

Not yet... but i've read unconfirmed reports that 1.2vcore at default speed is possible.
