If someone offered you an MSI 694d with two matching pentium III 700e cco stepping that can do 933 or better with good ram for an Iwill KK266 (nonraid) and a tbird 1.33@1.55gigs?

Anyone with personal experience with this mobo?

No personal experience with that board. But if it was offered to me, I'd take it!

wooho. I'll be going duallie here next week. Just got off the phone with the guy and we both got the warm fuzzy so it's a go. Yeah I know it's not that exciting for some of you guys but hey it's a start. Now all I have to do is take down that one comp and put together another in it's place.

It will be interesting to see if you think the dual setup is any faster overall or just reacts to changes differently than a single setup. My bet is the dual will seem to be about the same speed, but will react to things better ie a process can be going on and you can start another without introducing a delay..

I don't necessarily think that it will be any faster in most cases but I look at it as something new to play with. First time I'll be going SMP so even though I am going with older architecture it actually is a jump forward to me.

It probably won't be faster for any single app, but SMP really shines if you do a lot of multitasking. I seem to remember Phil saying that he prefered his dual 700's over his t-bird rig.

That's right Pell...this dually takes everything I throw at it and it never makes the system seem slow. I have a T-Bird running at 1575MHz and while it is awesomely quick, when it comes to multi-tasking the dually walks all over it. At 2x1050MHz, it puts out the same wu's per day as my T-Bird so it isn't any quicker....it just feels so responsive at all times. I can't wait for dual Athlon 4's :D

Me wishes i could play with a dually that actually performs good :) Those darn dual 100-200 anythings cost to much for me and don't offer that much performance. Hrmmmm. 6 ppros at 233 might......
