Quick! Everyone! Add more machines! ;) :D

Damn it Jim, I need more power!

Two more 1Ghz PIIIs coming online in a few minutes! Eventually I'm just going to have to break down and order a few racks of dual T-birds, I just know it... :D ;)

Ok, my team commitment - If the deal I'm working on for the company right now closes, I commit to bring on atleast an additional quarter terrahertz. Maybe as much as .5Thz if the client stabalizes enough that I don't have to babysit the darned thing. I still want us to make #1 - so it's time for everyone to dig deep! :D :D :D Go dig that 486 out of the garage - every FLOP counts!!!

We'll get there, of course...
After torturing my brother in law for about 3 months, he finally did it today, 3 more machines for TGC...
Twist arms, have everyone you know crunch with us...

Everything I build is 240 capable... I'm moving almost exclusively to that for the new server room... Lower wattage requirements.

You must be too old... :) Young people like me can't be nostalgic. We don't have enought life experience for that...

But old people don't pay as much for their car insurance as you do :D

Aha! Good point! But don't doubt that gender has more than a little to do with it, as well as career...

When my ex had my car - 28 (at that time) male, non-professional (race car driver), lower income bracket

$10k/quarter.

I assumed it from him when I was 27. 27-F-Executive/professional/top income bracket - $4k/quarter. Insurance agent said that it had mostly to do with female and executive.

Now, though - 29-F-Exec $2500/quarter. Mainly due to crossing the 28 threshold... (and the car's declining value (actually, it's appreciated in value, but don't tell them that!)) and that safe driver discount thingie for no at-fault accidents and no tickets that have stuck... :p

Imagine me now...
- 21
- not married
(Girlfriend for 2 1/2 years)
*Yes MaTriX, i'm with your sister since December 1998*
- no children
(for now, wouldn't be too long)
- self-employed...
- 3 demerit points for speed (if we say it like that in english)
- 5th year with driving license

- The vehicle is a Suzuki Grand Vitara XL7

Place your bet...
Answer... very soon....

Jodie
20th August 2001, 02:53
The Grand Vitara helps. Over 21 helps.

Don't know how insurance runs there...

I'm going to go with $1k/quarter.

47 -M -Retired

2 cars

Clean driving record last 15 years

$350/quarter with AAA

Daughter currently 10

Will be driving in 6 years...

Rates through the roof!

Vermine

Well...

I wont let you wait too long...

With $ Canadian
it's $5k/year = $417/month

in $ US (with today Exchange rate)
it's $3214/year = $268/month

Factors are my age.. need 25 to change rates, not married, and no little baby... When i'll have all those... I should pay something more decent!

Depends a lot upon what you drive, too... When you put the words "twin" "turbo" "sports" "car" "modified" together, it gets a bit more outrageous. Add on "bright yellow" and it gets worse.

I called it $4k/yr, I was pretty close!

Ouch.......I pay £300 ayear for my modified Audi, a benefit of being 30 I guess:D  :D

Jodie
20th August 2001, 13:33
Audi's a luxury car, regardless. Not classed as a sports-car.

Wow, Post 666 for Dave!

$1.5k/mo... Unless that's a Z3-M, in which case, double that.

Going back to the original topic of this thread, look how short the green line... Distance between us and #4 is melting...

Two observations, FWIW.

It looks like OCN has reduced their production rate by about 5-10%. I suspect a big dump is coming about the time we get them in the tractor beam.

Actually, TPS is only producing at about double our current rate. If we could recruit another couple of folks like Jodie, DaveS, 18K and pelligrini, we could be #3.

Jodie
21st August 2001, 01:18
Gonna take more than a 'me' or two.. It's going to take a couple more Pel's and Ohms....

Actually, I'm still trying to recruit the seti folks over here... I'll keep poking at them!

(It would take 10 me's to double the team output, but only 6 Pel's.)

Jodie
21st August 2001, 01:22
ARGH! Should have quoted you before you changed it! SIGH!

 :(

And who's FlybyKnight? He had a good day!

Can't forget Dustin, WBierman, LBaker's had a good run. . .Hell, the whole team has been rockin'!

Bruce
21st August 2001, 01:26
Right. I checked my facts AFTER I gave you more credit than I should have.

I'm still impressed.

Jodie

Pel's the one that *really* impresses me... I keep adding up my machines and adding up his and can't figure it out... I think either those P4's are a LOT better than they're made out to be, or he's got a couple extra hex boxes he forgot about hiding under a bed or in a closet some place. :D

Forgive me, but don't count your chickens before they hatch :D

However short a while it may be, you still have a while before passing OCN. Try to stay focused on what's right in front of you. :)
