I was out shopping at Ollie's Bargain Outlet (Don't ask) and picked up a copy of Mandrake 6.5 for a whole $10.

Well, how well does my spur of the moment choice stack up?

And can someone explain this whole partitioning deal better than the installation manual? I plan on doing a complete format, partitioning for Windows and Linux, then installing Windows, followed shortly by Linux. What do I need to know, other than that Windows isn't neccessary (It is for my purposes unfortunately)

Oh yeah, I've never partitioned before, so keep it simple where possible and explain where not possible.

Start fdisk from a dos boot disk. press "y" for yes at the large disk question

delete all old partitions.
create a small primary part for windows. then leave fdisk, restart, boot to same boot disk

do a format c:

then install windows.
