Is this HD week...arrg

20 gig 60GXP ibm drive was just clunking away when I checked on my rigs this morning...45 days old...dead as a racoon on interstate 80....

Getting an RMA from IBM...send it in when they get to it and when (if) they have one in stock it will ship out 3 to 5 days....

Scratch one athlon for the next 10 days...

Pulled a secondary drive off the dual celeron (I never use that drive except for temp storage once in a while)..plugged it in on the athlon and it was toast, just never noticed it had died..yes another drive does work ( the one from the other athlon).


Geez...Jodie..HD..splat..Dave S..HD..zing..wack..Viperdog..HD cling..clunk...quick everyone talk nice to your machines before we lose the bunch..

This does not help anyone who as just lost a HD but I always have spares on hand......for just in case. Not to mention spare CPUs (3 Durons), Router (1 Linksys), and Heatsink/Fan combos (4).

It must be a carry over from BoyScouts....always be prepared....

Speaking of spare parts....hmmmm

I had a Dishnetwork dishplayer over in the corner I wasn't using and it has (had) a 8meg seagate drive in it...

Got my athlon back online ( slower than crap drive, guess I was spoiled). Lost about half a day processing and another 3 hours on the other athlon (swapping parts, imaging).

Why is it that it takes days and days to catch someone above you..but lose part of your system and everyone below you catches up in one day..."Scotty!, I need that warp drive NOW!".

I think IBM is dicked up. They got me to with my 30 GIG, its goin in on RMA here uhh tonight or tomarrow i guess. =\ glad my friend getting me a temp drive.
