Well a mediocre first month, but I promise I'll try to pull my weight over the next month! :D

It's because you're not focusing on the RED issue! :D

DOH! That's TOTALLY it. What a moron I am, thanks, Dustin! Should I go straight for Red without staying in the orange for a few days, or should I take those little baby-steps? :p :D :D :D

That's up to you. If I had the recourses you do, my first goal would be to immediately get red, and stay red.

After that, my next goal would be to get Dyyry to add another color for my production!

Final goal, to be the top producer in all of Genome. Take and hold the #1 spot.

Whew- I'm glad I'm not you!:p:eek:

That sounds like a lot of work!

Actually, it would be an interesting project. The chief difficulty I see is in maintaining all of those clients... I honestly think it's impractical with the number of crashes that I have on a weekly basis... But thanks for the pointers! :p :D

I began Genome Feb 1st. Within a week I was in the #1 spot! I held that position for 3 weeks....I was quickly passed by giofort and that was that. I went back to Folding for a month before coming back to Genome.

Definately go for a new color!!!

i only run one client for genome .99...and ihave yet to see it crash. are you speaking about older versions jodie? Or is it just an issue with the linux port? What happens when it crashes? does it screw up the results?

The Linux port on the AMD is finicky. I've not seen it crash on my Intels... Every third day or so I'll have one or two of the AMD clients crash. At that point, I just move the WU over to an Intel machine and run the client on the AMD with the -clear option which nukes the current WU and dl's a new one. Kind of a pain in the butt if you're out of town (like I often am)

dnar was tellin me someone helped him write alinux script... COpies the data if the client crashes to a new dir and does the -clear flag for ya. ask him if you can use it. :)

I think he wrote it himself, actually...

I have a similar script I wrote - it's actually a bit more painful on multi-proc machines, though...

It's really not so bad, I haven't been down for more than an hour or so in the last week - I've got a program that I'll release to beta soon. It runs on Windows CE and uses a wireless connection to allow you to monitor and control clients under Linux. Actually peeks into /proc and gives you hard control over them...

Jodie - I have had 3 crashes with 0.99, all on the Intel machine.

Assure - I beleive that was phil atlking to you about the scirpt. Yes, I did wite a babysitter scipt. I have stacks of Linux scipts, they will all soon be available on the home page.

Of course, after I posted that I had THREE intel machines puke on WU's the same day... A new record. Sigh.
