This thread (http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17828168) is pretty shocking. Seems that those of us running Windows SMP clients are wasting our time and should be running Linux clients under VMWare!

Intresting, I wish I had the option of running vmware, but all of my SMP clients are on work machines.

I wouldn't say that the WinSMP client is a waste of time. My P4 dualcore running a SMP will get about 829PPD. Another machine, exact same hardware, gets 213PPD total for the two regular windows clients its got running. The VMware is more efficient solution though. A windows SMP still beats the snot out of regular clients.
