Good to hear that the farm is back. You two are having a great fight!

Hehe, bring it on! :-)
My 3rd 9800GX2 is inbound (last spare PCI-e slot!), and hopefully soon so will be my replacement Q6600. Assuming, of course, that the extra heat doesn't cause the magic smoke to escape. ;-)

What do you have running now?

Asus Maximus Extreme with DDR3-1600, E6600@500x6, 2x 9800GX2
Q6600 and another 9800GX2 should be arriving soon. :-)

Those 9800GX2s must be producing some serious numbers!

Yeah, they give the highest point/m^3 figure (points per metre cubed - how's that for an entertaining unit for measuring folding performance! ;) ) of all folding devices available today. :-)
Each GPU produces 4766.90 PPD, so 2x that much per card = 9533.8 PPD per card. :-D

The heat and noise aren't, though. :'(

I can't imagine. That single 9800GTX+ I had running for a short while wasn't. I couldn't imagine what a two dual GPU cards would be like. What kind of powersupply have you got on 'em?
Belated congratulations too!

Thanks. :-)
The case is too hot to touch in places, and GPUs run at arount 90C (and the GPU casing isn't that much cooler, either!).
It's a 1000W CoolerMaster M1000 PSU. At full tilt with C2D@ 500MHz x 6 = 3GHz and all 4 GPUs folding away, the drain at the wall plug is only 530W, which, assuming at least 80% efficiency means the internal load is about 425W, so the PSU isn't working particularly hard.
