So what is active Processors? Does it actually know how many computers are contributing?

Graphical clients are for wimps . Only hardcore DC'ers are allowed to use the console client.

Oh I would never run the graphical client It intalled itself after I ran the install, I click on the icon in the system tray and the damn thing locks up. Hell I didn't want that junk in my system tray.

The GUI client is written in OpenGL. Many of the graphics card vendors provide buggy drivers that are inadequately tested with OpenGL. The most commonly offered suggestion is "update your Graphics Drivers" - - - although in one case, a newer version caused a problem and you needed to go back to the earlier version.

A similar question: I'm running WinXP. Please fix the bug that messes up the ToolTips.
Answer: MicroSoft has acknowledged a bug with the ToolTips in WinXP but the fix isn't being distributed in a Service Pack yet. (They assumed nobody but them would ever use OpenGL. Here are a few other well know apps that have the same "problem" . . . .)

You're certainly entitled to your opinion.

On my dually, I run one of each client. The performance is identical since the compute engine (the core) is identical, except for the processor cycles used in displaying the proteins. When the display window is closed (you can't minimize it) that issue goes away too, and then it's just a matter of preference whether you've got an icon in systray or a minimized console window on the taskbar.

When I was running the beta test, I found it really convenient to be able to reconfigure the settings with the GUI without a stop/start of the client, but that's not particularly useful now. They're pretty much equal.

Pah, icons and taskbar windows are for wimps...only hardcore DC'ers are allowed to run console clients as a service

We are a hardcore bunch over here! Services only, but more to keep it from being visible. Sarah likes a nice clean desktop. Volume control and MBM are the only thinkgs in her system tray. And MBM is there because I like to keep an eye on how high those temps are. She has the hot one.
Any true borgmeister can install, set up and have F@H running as a service in less than 5 minutes. (without being caught!) That little thumbdrive I have is great for that. all the programs fit nicely, and no bulky CD to get caught with.

For those who have not checked the FAH site for awhile. They have a new client. It has video and cpu client built in one program.

This is the v7 client. It's not bad but can be tricky to monitor multiple remote clients.

HFM.net can do it and is arguably the best monitor anyways.

For those who have not seen it here is a screen capture of the new FAH control panel.

This is a shot of it in novice view. It does not matter which view you show it runs the same. I kind of like this view just since you can see the info on what you are working on.
